How we work

Everything here is put together by hand — gathered, sorted, written and edited by one person, not generated in bulk and published unread.

We look at a lot of rooms before writing about one. Where an idea comes from someone else’s home or photograph, we say so and link back. Where we are unsure whether something actually works, we say that too. The room images on this site are AI-generated illustrations of the ideas in each article, not photographs of a particular home.

Articles carry the date they were last updated. When something changes — a material we stop recommending, a source that disappears — we go back and fix it rather than leaving it standing.

Who is behind it

Slowdell is run by one person in Switzerland, in the evenings, out of a real interest in how rooms make people feel. There is no team and no office. If you write to us, you reach that person.
